Presentation Submission

To submit an oral or poster presentation for the program, please fill out the
2024 SCAFS Presentation Submission
by January 31st.

The program will include contributed paper presentations and a poster session on any fishery or aquatic

topic. We expect a wide range of topics from the diverse fishery and aquatic resources found within the

state. Presentations may include completed projects, management results, and progress of ongoing work. We

strongly encourage talks discussing recovered fisheries, new methodologies, case histories, or evolution of

aquatic programs.

We urge students to attend. We are particularly interested in student presentations. Several awards will be

given for outstanding paper presentations:

  • The South Carolina Fishery Workers Association Best Student Paper for graduate or undergraduate student presenters
  • Best Poster for all poster presenters
  • Jack Bayless Best Paper for professional oral presenters

Presenters should plan for a 20-minute presentation (15 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for

question/answer). A laptop PC with a USB drive and digital projector will be provided for PowerPoint

presentations. Please inquire about other audio-visual aids.

We also encourage poster presentations. Posters should follow the AFS “2024 Poster Guidelines” document. Poster presenters will be given a few minutes to introduce their posters to the group before the poster session.
