Membership

The American Fisheries Society (AFS), founded in 1870, is the oldest and largest professional society representing fisheries scientists. The South Carolina Chapter of AFS was chartered on September 24, 1982.

Objectives of our organization include conservation, development and wise utilization of the fisheries, promotion of the educational, scientific, and technological development and advancement of all branches of fisheries science and practice, and exchange and dissemination of knowledge about fish, fisheries and related subjects.

The annual dues for South Carolina Chapter members is $10.
